tomorrow - scouting

Today I was supposed to interview Mrs. Bogard about the ATM/Book shortage. I got to school and asked Ms. Jesse about it since Dr. White was visiting Tech to talk to students. She called Mrs. Bogard and she rescheduled the interview for tomorrow morning. I'll be more prepared I think.
I should also interview Mr. Davidson about him running the "bank".

I actually thought Dr. White's presentation was pretty good. Somewhat, actually. I liked the fact that he showed 2 Million Minutes. That is such a great movie that motivated me to more than average.

I think Ms. H realized today that not all basses know their vocals for some songs. I have an excuse: I never learned them. Neither "Bomp" nor "We Go"
We are doing sections on Monday I think. I know Bomp a little now. Thanks to Ms. D!
Steven bit me today on my shoulder. I thought that was weird. And it hurt too! He also poked me after I told him so.

Sensei gave us the great news that the Japanese class will be able to do some calligraphy. It's pretty cool. She's just worried she might now have enough ink; she only brought one bottle from Beijing. She also went on to talk about poor countries and how most students should take yearly field trips there so they can value their lives and opportunities.

Band is getting awesomer! We are all lifting Kimberly! I am so excited, but we really need to work on our stuff if we are doing a show this coming Friday.

I'm going camping this weekend, more like hiking actually. I don't really remember exactly where. I don't know what to expect with four college students and four current Boy Scouts. It's our first hike too! I could probably put this in my Senior Scrapbook.

The girls barbershop today was awesome; I think.

Tomorrow there are three birthdays to celebrate: Kattie Wickersham, Steven Scott, and Donnell Duncan. I think they are all turning 18. That is awesome!

lame - pretty

Today was not the day for many at Tech High School.

Today Mr. Dinkens started handing out money for questions being answered. It's a good motivator but not really.

New officers in Techoir too. Kaleem and Tesia are both Co-Presidents. Most of us don't agree with this but unfortunately we have to live with it. I was voted Secretary! I am really excited. Taking attendance should be easy though. Audrey is the treasurer! She deserved something better. I didn't really wanted to be anything but I was voted it. I seem to be popular too. That's kind of nice.

OMG! SMOGEE! Ms. Solchik had told us to read chapter 12 today but she had to leave to get something fixed on her computer or whatever so we all just listened to Monique read a dirty book. It is ghetto! It was funny though. It was our secret Book Club. We might even start a real one actually!

Oh, during lunch, Kattie had said something funny and Summer was drinking juice so as soon as she heard it she started choking and the juice started coming out of her nose. It was funny, but I felt bad for her because there was no way we could've helped. We just sat there and watched.

Technicians was meh. But I'm in the first row! Audrey and I are ones for We Go Together. Awesome!

Oh em gee! Marching band is coolio. I just wish we can start learning more stuff sooner. I am also supposed to lift Kimberly during the first eight counts of the first song which is pretty cool if we both do it correctly. We had to do it three times because the first time we missed coming in and the second time I grabbed her boob instead of her waist. As soon as I felt that I let go and put her down. I'm just not used to that!
Pretty funny though. Mr. Baldwin said my brother and I needed to get on steroids and all the girls to start being bulimic. Sounds fair to me!

April's silly self didn't go to school so I didn't take pictures of friends; I refuse to start without April.

day - normal

Today was our first day with our dear freshmen. I felt dorky and wanted to take pictures of them all but I didn't; I didn't have my camera.
I have four hispanic students. Two girls and two guys. All of them ENL students. I am actually looking forward to help them so they can succeed and won't be made fun of; been there done that.

I went to Journalism and got there a little bit late. Since they were already doing work Ms. Jesse asked to see my ATM story which I didn't have with me. I told her so and she just told me to go and schedule an appointment with Ms. Bogard to talk about the ATM and Book Shortage. It's Thursday morning first period. Ms. Jesse wants a picture of her too. I don't want to take a picture of her.

Ms. Frank seems to be sick at the moment so we have a sub from England. She's okay. We had to copy down some transparencies. I wrote pretty fast because it's a skill I must master to interview people. And it's always fun to finish before everyone else.

In English we do stupid 5th grade stuff. Drawing pictures and writing sentences with new vocabulary. Come on people. And why are most black people so effing annoying?! There is no need to draw attention by being loud and disobeying school rules.

I was chastised during fourth period. Well, not really. I was just told by Ms. H, the bilingual assistant, that I am to help two ENL students whenever she's not there to help. I don't really care because Benje is there and I can talk to him while doing my duty.

Technicians is meh. Rookies are learning pretty fast though. I still think she should only have the veterans perform because of outfits and choreo, but that's just me.

Oh em gee! There was a fight during lunch today! Black people these days, I tell ya. And why is it always the ugly ones fighting? It's just an observation. Joshie was pretty flirty yesterday and today. Which is okay by me. But I sometimes don't know how to respond.

Japanese is always fun. It's because I'm the only advanced kid in there. But everyone else is doing pretty good. We are down to four students in the class! Nihongo ga dekimasu ne!

SMOGEE was okay today too. I am really into this environmental stuff and I don't know what to do. I know people won't listen to students. And Tech needs to start recycling! For real.
Summer wasn't there because she went home sick. What is this, her fourth day missing and it's only like the second/third week of school?

After school was my favorite part. I went to the National Honor Society meeting and I had just sat down when Ms. Jesse walked in there and asked if I could leave to go to The Cannon's meeting. I'm the Senior Editor! Yay. But apparently Adrian ran away, so now we are down to three writers! I might even take a third story. Gosh. It's so much.
The meeting was over so I went to the NHS meeting just in time to elect presidents. I voted for Emily. There was a tie between Emily and Mary, twice! So both of them just left the room and by a show of hands we decided on the President and Vice-President.
I was voted Secretary. I am so excited! I got my first assignment too: compile a directory of all members with their names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Pretty easy.
Latonya Yarbro is the Archivist. He explained what that was but all I got was that the Archivist is in charge of posters, advertisements, photo-taking and photo-keeping/scrapbooking. Pretty fun.

After that Audrey and I drove to the teachers parking lot. We had a deep conversation about the T-word. She did most of the talking, but I'm a good listener. I love Audrey. I don't want her to be angry or sad because of someone else. There's people who love her and support her.

Band was a mess today. Kind of. I am really excited but kind of scared too. I hope it all works out. I need to be able to do a back bend and be more flexible. Pretty cool.
One of the Band Geeks is pretty cute.

I need to start on my own projects. I promise myself I'll start taking pictures tomorrow! I need to go to Wal-Mart to buy paper though. -bites bottom lip- That can be done later.

At least I know someone read this! Love ya Apes! -helikoptuh-

update - must

I pretty much have to update more often.
To keep you up on date, whoever's reading this, I have two stories for Journalism due on Tuesday. I have to interview Mrs. Bogard!

I can't update because I barely have time to get online

I logged in on Facebook today and I had 22 notifications, which is great. And much flair was sent my way. I enjoy flair.

a failure - i am

For not being able to keep up! It's because I have no life and I live at Tech.

Sunday I got my first phone! It's cute! It's one of those Sprint Rumors. It's green! And I love it. I'm supposed to be able to text easier but I have no texting service right now. Hopefull I will get it soon.

Today's Newspaper meeting pretty much sucked. Only James and I were able to go and we only had it for about 10 minutes. It was mainly because the other two had jobs to attend to.

Band is back! We have more members and I am glad we do. Swing flags are in too and they are pretty cool. Everyone has two!
We discovered today that practicing on concrete damages the flags; won't do that no more.

Elizabeth Pinedo is back in Japanese. I am so happy for her. I want her to learn more Japanese. I want to go to Japan now. -sigh-

First Friday - Last

First period, journalism, was just priceless.
Ms. Jesse had shown us a video that compares Indian, Chinese and American students. The class was to write an essay explaining the differences and what we could do to improve our education system.
We found ourselves disrupted by Mr. Michael Armbruster, the Magnet English teacher. He entered the classroom demanding a much promised digital camera for his freshmen and their project. Ms. Jesse, much annoyed by Armbruster's attitude and disruptiveness, handed him the keys to the file cabinet in which the cameras were secured. Armbruster, after much "struggle" to find the cameras, started banging the cabinets. Ms. Jesse, of course, came to our rescue and she went herself and got the camera and gave it to him. This was all during class.
She had as write a journalistic account of what we had witnessed. I don't think I was done, but it was decent considering we had only five minutes to write it.
I had never seen Ms. Jesse this upset.

Ms. Solchik made me sit away from Benje because he talks too much when he's a little excited. I hope he does well and that I get to work with him.
Ms. Solchik is being real nice about the fact that I have to leave early to get to my next class. And besides, I'm a peer tutor and she doesn't really need me for the moment.

Japanese this year will be lots of fun. I hope I get to compete with Elizabeth because she is smart and loves Japanese too. I also hope I can keep all my notes in one place for later review.

Key Club is back in the game. President: Me. That's right. She wanted someone that had been in Key Club before so it was me or my brother. He's running for VP along with Donnell Duncan. I want my brother to get it because Donnell tends to want to take over. Gotta love service projects.

Seems to me Techoir will be awesome this year and I might be going to Prom with Audrey.

Tania's Quince tomorrow!

Today was Kick-Off Day. I totally skipped it. I just went and got my medium sized shirt and left. On my way there, I was greeted with a kiss from Emily Ventress. I guess she had lipgloss on because I could taste it and my lips were kind of sticky. My counselor saw us, and she advertised it. Tee-hee.

Of school - Last first day

Today wasn't too bad. Considering it was the first day of school and what-not. Here's a small overview of my day. My last first day, if I may add.

First period was started off with Journalism. I think this is a great class, mainly because Ms. Jesse is making me the "head" of the newspaper. I have some friends in there; Angie and Tesia. Hopefully they'll like it as much as I do and put all they got into this publication. Oh, I just hope.
Oh, Henry is supposed to have this class too! Might get to "work" with him!

Second period was US History with Ms. Frank. I am not really fond of her mainly because she does play favorites. Last year I wasn't one of them and so I got a C in her class, even though I was probably the only student who did their work and was present every day. Oh well, hopefully it will be different this year. I don't want to suck up to her though.
Dixie, Monique and Benje (!) are in that class too. Benje is. . . a boy, to put it short.

Third period is English 11. Mr. Dinkens is my teacher and he already knew my name before I even walked into the classroom. That was kind of freaky, but meh-ish. I'm popular! Yeah right.
I know some people in this class too; Jorge, and some other random people whose names I can't really remember.
I really liked that Mr. Dinkens showed me off to the class by mentioning that I've taken college classes. Which puts me into the "I-hate-you" side of other students, but who cares about the lower class level.

During fourth period I am a peer tutor/teacher assistant for Ms. Sholchik. She's working on a new textbook and she'll need help handling some students. I sit right next to Benje (again!). I might take advantage of that and do some stuff, -cough-.
We did a wordsearch today. I started way after everyone had and I was probably the first one done with it.

Fifth period is probably the best period ever, after Journalism, of course. This is where we sing! We are doing awesome stuff this year. Pretty fun. I know a lot of people in this class so I'm not even going to mention them.
I was late to this class though. So was my brother. But it's due to our different schedules. Stupid small schools.

Lunch was after, sixth. Lots of peeps. Met a freshman. Her name is Gabrielle. Or something. She's pretty, I think. It feels weird being in this lunch, because I actually eat with my friends, and I'm not used to that.

During seventh period I had Japanese. Pretty okay. We are starting with the new second book because the first one is just shit. Or so Sensei thinks. I was a little rusty, but better than everyone. Sensei told me I could've passed Ball State's Japanese 101 Test right there. "That Was Easy"

Eighth is Honors Environmental Science. Yeah, that class for which I got paid 400 awesome dollars! There are some students in there that are not supposed to. Meh.
Today was pretty boring; reading an article. But pretty interesting too.

After school was Band!
'Twas fun. I like it. People like me too. The thing I don't like is our budget. We don't have money therefore we don't have flags, poles or outfits. My brother is trying to get a grant from Cathedral's Women. They give up to $3,000. I hope we get it. We really need the money.
To make matters worse, Kacy and Kim don't know if they can be in it. Actually, they don't know whether or not they can be at Tech due to district changes. This year they might have to go to Arlington. Sucks for them, and us too because now we are down to four color guard members.
We need an urgent fundraiser. We might go panhandle downtown. Doesn't seem like a bad idea.
Carwash is out of the question because we don't have a location.
Our first show is in three weeks, September 5th.

Hopefully it's just today. I have a story idea too: Tech might not be able to recycle paper this year!

Summer break - Last day of

I'm mad: I just got finished typing out a decent post. I tried to change the font and selected the whole thing. I pressed the down arrow key and then, everything was gone. Pissed. Oh well, here it goes again, see if I can remember most of it.

Today is the last day of my summer break. Tomorrow is the first day of my high school senior year. I am pretty excited; there are many things going on this year.
One thing I am a little upset about is me not being able to keep up with this blog and my senior scrapbook. Hopefully I'll get back on track this week though; can't afford to waste a month.
I have written down in my notes that I was going to write about my breakfast/lunch this morning.

This morning, at about 11-ish, I had pozole with a big glass of water. I have to eat healthier this year; it's one of my goals. I had my multivitamin this morning too. I wanted iron though, but oh well, all vitamins in one, can't complain. For background music I had Barrage, that awesome group I watched perform at Summer Symposium. They are hot!
Since there wasn't much singing going on, due to it all being instrumental, mainly violins, I decided to read. One Door Away From Heaven by Dean Koontz is what I am reading.
I am trying to read more actively and objectively. Trying to learn how to best tell a story and describe in full detail. That was one of the purposes of this goal, but it's not happening anytime soon. Dean Koontz is an awesome author, you should read anything by him.

Now that I remember, I didn't buy new shoes, backpack, or uniforms for this school year. I guess I'm going to be wearing the same things I did last year. Oh well, I don't really care.
Tomorrow, I will be wearing the blue eyes that I purchased from an East Washington Square Mall shop. 20 dollars, not bad. The only thing I really don't like about them is that the "pupil hole" is small. It might just be my pupils, but the uncolored centers of the contacts are so small that it makes my vision go blurry, due to the color covering the pupils. Oh well. It's fashion. Gotta pay for it.
I'll be a "lil blue-eyed skank," to quote Kaleem.

Today is David Haddix's birthday.

Wednesday, August 6

Keep you up on it.

Yesterday, August 5th, my $400 paycheck from IUPUI arrived. I was so excited. I kind of want to save it, but I need to buy a recorder for Journalism and I don't know if my parents will be nice enough to pay for my senior pictures.
On another note, during a recent attempt to raise money for Tech High School's color guard, Audrey and I worked at a yard sale. She did most of the work, really. But we raised about $100 including the money she and I put in and money people from her church also put in to make it nice and even. I'm pretty excited. We are going to have more flags probably!
I should start updating more often. But I barely have time. That's the lamest excuse ever. If I have time for Facebook, I have time for my blog.
Sorry if it's not interesting.
