Inspiring inspiration

Every night so far I have been spending late nights reading and updating myself on blogs. I managed to update on blogger, and tumblr in one day and catching up on entries from February until now. That's a lot of reading but then again many of the sites I follow I do more because of inspiration.

I love collecting pictures to use as inspiration on future projects. I have too many now though and it's hard to go through all of them. I thought about one day organizing them by color but I just rather have them all together so I can look through them and see what I like.

My plans right now are to look for more interior design related blogs, especially ones that present computerized renderings of interiors. I want to see how intricate people can get when selling out their designs utilizing SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Revit.

I don't think I'll have a demanding job this summer, if I have one at all, so I'll have a lot of free time for all that. As well as to try and achieve my summer goals! :)

Summer Goals

I had mentioned this to one of my friends before but I actually want to accomplish a couple of things this summer.
  • Learn AutoDesk’s Revit software
  • Create more 3D renderings with AutoCAD
  • Get a better grasp of Google’s SketchUp
  • Start sketching; eventually leading up to a good sketch a day
  • Create more 2D renderings with coloring pencils
  • Scan all artwork
  • Better my website
  • Get an internship  (?)
The last one is questionable simply because I should’ve already applied to firms but I didn’t. My interior design professor told me I should look for an internship so I can start adding to my résumé and portfolio.
These are all mainly to build on my skills and better myself for these coming years. I don’t think I did as well as I would’ve liked this semester. Hopefully I’ll be able to carry through with most of these!

Finally Time and Finally 20

It's the (third) weekend and I found myself with a little free time. I think it's more like me procrastinating on some projects.

I think it's safe to say that I've had a good start this semester. But there have been a couple of dramatizing (maybe exaggerating a little) events.

First I could not find my camera cord anywhere I looked! I started back home and looked through my drawer. You know? That drawer where you stash away everything!? Yeah. So I had to empty it out and look for it. No luck. So then I decided that maybe I had left it behind in my room in Bloomington. Once here I looked through all my stuff and again nothing. So I went home and looked downstairs and found a cord which ended up it was for our T1-84. Finally I decided to look through my brother's book bag because I had borrowed it once and guess what!? It was there! Ugh. Of course my brother had no idea it was there.

We have a super fun project in studio for interior design. It's a challenge because we have to make a chair out of cardboard. This chair has to be functional, meaning it has to hold at least one person. I came up with two designs but my professors picked the most interesting (and the one with the most problems) for me to better. It's coming along, I think. I just really need to work on it. I know for sure I can't leave that for last minute because I'd be dead.

Today I spent most of my day drawing some stairs (for my interior visualization class) and making tracks of difficult music I need to learn for a contest. It's even harder because I'm the only bass in the group. I'm still sticking with it though. It's beautiful music!

Oh yeah. My birthday was this Tuesday. I turned 20. We had a dinner at Cheeseburger and Paradise and then our roommate had made us some cake so most came home for more celebrating. Great times.

Ready for School

Tomorrow is the first day of class of this second semester. I'm really excited especially because I don't have super early classes and I'll have more time for myself and my loved ones, hehe.

I still have much more unpacking to do so right now I'm getting ready for my two classes tomorrow. Making sure I have the materials necessary for my interior visualization class.

My wisdom wound is coming along. I feel the stitches and they should be coming off by themselves. The pain medicine is definitely working and the only time I start feeling pain is when it's getting time to taking it again. I love it. And I only got enough for about a week so it shouldn't be taking that long to heal.

Meh, I just want a lollipop!

"Wisdom Tooth Be Gone!"

That's what I imagined my dentist saying while extracting my wisdom tooth.

I did pretty well, or so they said. I didn't complain at all when they stuck foot-long needs in my mouth or when they extracted the tooth.

"It's out!" One of the assistants said. Next thing I know the dentist is holding it up almost right in front of me. I couldn't believe he pulled that out of me! That thing was huge! But I'm a good boy and didn't cry one bit. I could tell when I got home that the anesthesia was wearing off because of the pain! But I took some pills right away and took a short nap. Then had some veggie soup and a plum. Much better.

That was pretty much all my day! Went to the doctor around 10:30 AM for my brother's appointment and went back around 1 PM for a dentist walk-in. I didn't go in until around 4 and was out by 5. Woke up around 8 and had some food and now time to go to bed again. I should be packing but sleep sounds much better.

Medical Check-Up and a Book

That's right! My last book got here today! I skimmed it all and it looks pretty okay. I don't know if I'll be keeping it for reference though, probably.

Speaking of books I've sold three through my Amazon account. Well they're all my brother's but still. We've sold three so far. Looking good.

I went to the clinic today and got a random check-up just because. I went ahead and got HIV testing just because it was free. And to know. I had to go through a counselor first who asked me serious questions about my sexual life. I thought the "Are you a prostitute?" one was kind of funny. She had to make those questions anyway. My results won't be in until a week from now and even then I have to go in person. And through the counselor whether or not it's positive or negative.

[insert title name]

I checked my missing book's information and noticed that they had given me a tracking number. So I tracked it and it's in Ohio right now. It came all the way from Idaho and spent two days in Washington. I was getting a little nervous that I wasn't going to get it in time! It should be here tomorrow.

I guess today was my last day getting up late. Woke up around noon and had lunch then we all went out. I bought a new pair of pajama pants and a white ink gel pen for my design course.

I finally changed the look of my blog. I liked the old one but it was getting old. Meh.
